Spamel,

Do you not keep looking over your shoulder, expecting someone to spring out and tell you to get a shave? Or does that wear off eventually? Or is that just me?:aargh4:

Simon

If I may Spam......
My beard is an ongoing rebellion against the daily slur of "Have you shaved this morning Airman?" I've had it since I was demobbed nearly fifteen years ago and spent most of the interim working for the Gillette company!
Get to grips with that if you can

Ogri the trog

Spent a night in the woods, built a wee hut and did some foraging, had a jolly good time!

Now it has been raining for over a day, solid, so I can't get out. :(

My lack of facial grooming is also due to being forced to shave daily for the best part of 14 years! It is my little way of rebelling, against whom I'm not sure. I also don't polish my boots for work any more! And as for ironing clothing, puhh-lease!

:D

I have being washing raw fleece. It is not hard job in its self, but i have two bin bags full of dirty fleece, and thats lot of washing. My backyard is small so i don't have that much drying space, so i have rigged up an old net curtain into a drying hammock. I am about a 1/3 through the lot.

Thank you toddy for your advice, your PM box is full BTW.

I presume the fleece is considered clean when it no longer smells like a sheep?

I LOVED Bcuk being off line, if only for the fact that i could revise effectively for my exams last Tuesday. If only BB had been off line, i would have succeeded! Only 63 days to go and i'll be able to join Spam and Ogri in the no shaving, no polishing and no ironing situation! Not that i'm counting.

I made some delicious elderflower cordial for the first time. I went for a high sugar and citric acid recipe as I reckon it is then bacteriacidal until diluted. One bottle for use now, one in the freezer and plans for 4 more bottles at the weekend.

Delightfully simple recipe.

Busy Lady :D
Washing fleece is not my favourite activity. Great fertiliser though
It really depends on what you want to do with the wool. If you want to dye it you have to wash the lanolin out, but if you're going to spin or felt it, some lanolin is not a bad thing, and is actually very good for your hands. If you're likely to be storing it for a while then cleaning out as much gunk as possible is a good idea. It's less likely to attract moths that way too.
The first fleece I bought my brother asked if the remains of the sheep were still in it because it smelled so bad

:o I've cleared out my pm's (again  ) sorry about that.

cheers,
M
