Delamere forest scout camp ?

Does it still exist ? I'm looking for somewhere for a 1 or 2 night proper wild camp away from everyone, but I'd like a dry run somewhere a bit safer first to check all my kit works properly together before wandering a good few miles from help if needed, I'm a Scout leader so I can use the Scout camps if I like.

If it doesn't then can anyone suggest an area I can use ? PMs if prefered.

there is an actual campsite next to delemere train station if you like hot showers and brick toilets. not sure about the scout camp mind.

I know that one its a CC site not what I want, all those tin tents ! I think the Scout camp might be Sandiway I've stayed there and it's a great venue, might give that a go for the first time !

Its a mixed site, caravans and pitches for tents.
they didn't half look at us odd when me and a m8 showed up in january (hedge laying course nearby) but the hot showers helped!

Ive ofted wondered if i would get away with wild camping in Delamere with a small contained open fire, but i find it too well used, and so not worth the risk.
