I'm considering starting a degree with OU in the September. I'd originally been looking at Enviromental Studies. But I'm not really sure whether this is for me.

Is anybody aware of any part time degrees or diplomas that are more forestry based.

Cheers Guys

Try talking to either http://www.school-of-forestry.org/ or http://www.safs.bangor.ac.uk/ they will piont you in right direction.

Most distance learning in forestry is post graduate, you may have to do short courses instead in depends on your final aim.
There is available for some full time courses, where are you based?

Up until 2 years ago had no quilifications in anything, doing fast track system which has allowed my to work towards MSc forestry iwhich I am starting in September,(provided I pass my exam next week eeeeeeeeeeehhhh) To do this you need to study full time and not do much else but to go from no qualifications to MSc in 3 years is worth the work ( I am mature student as well)

Good luck

Thanks for the links.

I'm currently in Sussex but as for aims well that's a tough one. I had planned to start a psychology degree last year, but faultered at the last minute when it came to cost.

I'm a bit of an office sado who always said that I'd never end up in an office but here we are. I guess I was aiming at a few things.
A, get a degree
B, get out of the office enviro
C, use the degree to find alternative (outside based) work and find out where I would fit in best
D, better quality of life, that is to say equal kind of wage as on now, believe me I'm not on a lot at the mo, but happy in what I'm doing.

Cheers again for the links.
