Deer antler knifehandle

Hello dear bushcraftuk! Im making a knifehandle out of deerantler and i was thinking i ought to treat it with something to protect the nice brown color of the antler.
Perhaps you have some experience with this and can give me advice on what would be best to treat it with?

I've found that no treatment is necessary for antler matey. It ages well...even better wi' use from hands (the sweat an' oils seal it better). Tho you could give it a light covering with a hard glue if yer worried about wear.

as the capt'n says dont treat it at all a skin finish is the right way to go

I would say a bit of veg oil or wood oil gives a nice finish...
