I like a few others bought a Dartmoor blank last year, Duncan (FGYT) kindly put a cracking edge on it for me.
Has anyone actually finshed there knife off yet? I had an attempt, realised that I haven't a clue what im doing so will hopefully get someone off this parish to put a nice handle on for me, and make a sheath for it as well. I am not bothered about the tube inside etc, I just want a knife in a sheath that i can use and not gather dust in the drawer.

You can buy the original handle and the original sheath from Dartmoorknife.co.uk for £14.95 each as well as the other accessories, just in case you dont get it sorted

I had a go at mine, the handle and insert were bought. The end nut, lanyard tube and bolster were made from aluminium tube and a block of aluminium (with a lot of filing, drilling and swearing) the sheath is plywoodand now has a thin leather covering, bit like a khukri sheath. It is a chunky big knife, but great fun to use in a camp setting. Altogether it took a fair bit of time, but was a good project to learn about assembling a knife and trying to get the grind angles right.

I too bought one along with a handle , end nut and lanyard tube , I just need the finger guard which I've hopefully just sorted for someone to machine for me . I currently have it in a MOD survival knife sheath but hope to get a kydex one for it .

Yeh, had a look at that but the sheath is incomplete.
Thanks though

Found a few more pics of the sheath and the bolster. I’d be interested in seeing how others who joined in the group buy got on. It’ll be good to see variations in customisation..

Great to see what folk are doing with their blanks! I find the Dartmoor a little heavy for my liking, but there's no question it's a hugely capable knife. Less military looking with the home made add ons, I'm quite impressed.

I was lucky to pick up one of the early serial numbered knives when they first came out years ago. The trouble is, now they're getting rare I really shouldn't be using it. I can't decide - it's unused but that feels such a waste!

I’ve trying everywhere to get a bolster for my Dartmoor, does anyone have any information of someone who might make me one? Knife looks naked without it!

Not something I can help with for just the bolster but I would suggest finding a machinist that has a milling machine. I would have thought with a bit of hunting you could find someone local.

I got a mate to get a mate to make me one at work , mocked it up in plasticine ,with some measurements and then gave him the knife to final fit , cost me a pack of beers !

Thanks for the steer. Andy was most helpful but only has a couple of full sets available so still on the hunt. Does anyone have photos of the bolster or/and the measurements that they would be willing to share? I’ve found a contact with a full suite of machinery and may be able to persuade him to gin me one up!

Thanks in advance and I’ll let you know if it works out as once programmed it might be possible to get a few made!
