Just made my first batch of dandelion coffee and to be honest, it isn't too bad. I went for one spoon of the coffee for one cup but that is a bit too strong but the taste is damn pleasant, a sort of cross between coffee and chocolate 
In Canada, processed dandelion root is classed as a registered drug because of it's diuretic properties.
No more dandelion roots in the compost tip in this house
but SWMBO is definately not convinced by the taste 
Hey ho, you can but try! She did quite like the wood pigeon I shot and roasted though, so I can't grumble
