I'm curious as to how you manage the resource for coppicing.

I read in the forums that you need about 35 acres, and use about 5 acres a year, and that by rotating where you work the first lot is ready again just as you finish with your last 5 acres.

I'm interested in knowing and had some questions, I wandered if anyone could enlighten me a bit please.

These days, where do you find 35 acres of suitable woodland?
Do you have to buy it or do you rent it from people?
Does it have to be on one site, or is it usually spread about in different areas?
If you rent it, how do you stand if you've managed the woodland for years and then your lease goes belly up etc?

Hope you don't mind me asking. I was just curious.
