Hi All, Looking for some advice for rice.

Yesterday i made a pot cosy for my crusader in the hope to cook rice while burning the least amount of meths as i could (30ml - which is the max the pop can stove can take)

Extra layer to try improve heat resistance

The meths burned for over 12 mins (7 mins to boil and boiling for the remaining 5 mins) and then the crusade went into the pot cosy for 30 mins. The rice was soft, however not completely done.

Does any one have any tips on cooking with the pot cosy? is there anything i can do to improve the cosy? i was thinking about putting some duct tape on the out side of the outer cosy, will this help?

I am sure i have more questions but this will do for the moment.

Thanks
T.

What sort of rice did you use ? It might be worth trying it with some of the quick rice, the Uncle Bens Express ones are good but they're quite heavy. Bulgar wheat is nice if you're not tried it, it's got a really nice nutty flavour to it.
