Cooking in Stainless bottles. Prep?

Hi

Been following Dave Canterbury on youtube, and he amongst others recomends stainless steel bottle for cooking in. Dual purpose with a little added weight, and they mate with the Vango/Alpkit mugs...

After alot of googling, the wide mouth Primus ss bottle seemed the most bang for the buck and compatible with my Alpkit mug.

Should i preheat/precook in these bottles before using them? What do you do with unkown stainless cookware?

Just wash them, use milton to sterilize (or stick in boiling water for a bit) maybe, and should be good to go.

Yep, Milton or ordinary (unflavoured ) household bleach. You could rinse with a salt solution
afterwards....

Just boil some water in it...

Just googled the primus bottle, and see it has some sort of outer coating.
Not sure what that'll do if put on open flame.

I, personally, have and would go for a plain stainless.
