Convex blade sharpening

For the short term, sharpening at a steeper angle pays off and straightens the edge. I did find with my F1 that I had to convex it at a less steep angle on a belt grinder to make it work as I like a knife to work. The factory bevels are steep to begin with because the knife is made to military specifications and that's what they wanted... It would take a while by hand, even with a big sanding pad such a drywall sander - but it's certainly doable.

Hoodoo: that trick of using a lens has sure paid off over the years! Watching edges come into top shape takes away some of the tedium of initially setting them up.
