anyone made a sheath for the cold steel trail hawk? i was offered one made of leather but it was a bit out of my price range. i have a design idea which will use a piece of kydex about 8cm x 5cm and 2 little ring things that you hold them together with (the brass things with the hole in the middle) and a bit of elastic.
anyone have any spare bits of kydex and a trail hawk? it seems a fairly cheap solution to the only real problem with this axe.

:)I just made one for mine out of leather and copper rivets :)
Its not difficult and you don't need a big bit of leather have a bash yourself :)

cheers Russ

im thinking of bodging one of my mums old handbags into a open top sheath/bag (with a hole in the bottom which the handle goes through). but it needs to look nothing like a handbag lol!
what (apart from kydex) do i need to make stuff from kydex?

I just made a sheath with kydex for my Sog Seal,
<table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/aDUvprYS9ybpyzp4DTomcg?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_IAcll1TqZxU/TNyBe97hfqI/AAAAAAAAGRk/CLEmzjrXp6M/s144/IMG_0219.JPG" height="108" width="144" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/bobvanvelzen/MessenEnz?feat=embedwebsite">Messen enz</a></td></tr></table>

All you need is and oven, or heatgun.
Some foam to press it all together, like an old campmat.
drill for holes, and eyelet flaring die. (and the eyelets of course).

For finishing i used sandpaper and hacksaw, now im borrowing my dads dremel. wich is way better!

I found it was allot easier than i thought it would be, just watch every video on youtube and visit british blades for a tutorial/example.
