was taken 17th may.....today! in the new forest on a yew tree

That sure does look like it and a nice big specimen

It sure is, but you don't want to be eating it when its grown on a yew tree due to the possibility of it containing poisons from the tree

that was just one shot of one piece there was more! the tree was huge but didnt look well.... :-( mostly just a trunk with a few needles here and there and this huge fungus!!!!!

I've heard Yew described as the most toxic plant on the planet. You don't get to be so old without some kind of defence against all comers.
