I was in our local Asda doing our weekly shop and i noticed that they were selling chestnuts that were a few days before the best before date of 20th December .
Are they still going to be edible in the next couple of weeks as i bought 5 bags at 500grams each . I thought they would go down well round the camp fire at new year .

Craig..........

forgot to say they were £2.50 before dropping to 10p.

Store them cool and dark Craig and they'll keep well.

We use to collect them as kids and ate them throughout the winter. Some do go bad obviously, but most kept for a few months easy.

Cheers
Ness ;)

At 10p thats a steal!!! Worth that even if you can find locally in the woods! Should keep for a good time if kept cool and dark..

cheers guys , they are now in the coolbox on the back step , should be cool and dark enough .

Craig..........
