chestnut flour

Save it and use it to make bread.
Replace 1/4 to 1/2 of your usual flour with an equal measure of the chestnut flour.
Makes gorgeous bread. Especially bannock.
 
Apparently you dry them in a warm ventilated area ( I'm using one of those reusable veg bags) for a few months and then shell them and blend them in the food processor to make the flour.
As far as I've heard you need to mix it with normal flour as durulz said.
I'm gonna be trying it with the bunch I foraged in autumn last year,
