Or goat.

Goats are literally the GOAT .

Had a few on the small holding I grew up on - after getting to know their character I can easily see why they are so closely aligned with the dark one.

Mad. Bad. And dangerous to know.

And will happily eat a pair of leather gloves as an amuse-bouche.

And they smell very pungent!

Back on to the main thrust of the thread, I have to admit that I don't like chest rigs. I tried one set-up so that I had easy access to my essentials while wearing a pack. I found them unnecessarily close and sweaty and positioned at just the wrong height to make the bits'n'bobs comfortably accessible. It impeded my view of the ground and got in the way when scrambling. So, I gave it up as a bad job. I find that well-positioned jacket pockets tick the boxes for me much, much better.

Sorry for my heresy, but there it is.

Although I wear Flyfishing vestpacks, with front pockets and integrated rucksack, I happily put up with the chest pockets as tolerable for usefulness for small stuff when fishing.

I keep a chest pack in car with a rod for impromptu ultra light fly fishing on my travels but often wear it sideways when walking to\from fishing as don't like object bouncing against my chest.

With a rucksack, I much prefer just on my back (I cut off\ remove chest straps as I find them restrictive).

However, all my rucksacks either come with or I customise dump straps, so it is easy to dismount, so never an issue to take off and put back on.
