If you want decent cold/wet weather clothes boots, hats etc it may be worth getting down to a traditional farmers supplier.
Eg
I got some 100% waterproof boots (basically great fitting lace up wellies with steel toecaps) - very comfortable on long walks for 12 pounds.

A very warm bodywarmer (with elastic round the shoulders to keep the wind out) loads of pockets (big enough for an emergency kit, a torch, bush knife, poncho, hat, etc etc etc) for 15 pounds.

These shops specialise in outdoor weather clothing for far far less money than other specialised outdoor suppliers.

Just a thought.
