I found a few items in a Tesco superstore the other day that may interest people:

Goose down Sleeping bag, this packed down very small:

Water proof trousers for a £10, packs down in a handy travel bag. I bought myself one of these:

They also did a waterproof jacket for a £10:

One thing that isn't on their website that I did see in store was a Tesco's value brand tent for £10! Probably a complete load of junk but could be good for festivals as you wouldn't be to worried about it being trashed.

You can guarantee that the cheap chickens that super markets stock are subjected to the same inhuman conditions.

I buy supermarket meat, so it would be hypocritical of me to ignore this bag because of a possible source of its feathers, so the question is, are these bags any good? The price seems great :)

I am sceptical at the quality of these bags because of the temp ratings. They seem very low, even for down bags.

When you compare them size-wise to my Alpkit down bag (which has a similar temp rating), the Tescos bags are a lot smaller.

It's probably only useful for the summer months but at the price its got to be worth a butchers.

I took the plunge and bought one yesterday. My intial thoughts after unrolling it were its rather thin. But then my cat took an instant liking to it and started rolling around all over it and just gererally acting like she was in pussycat heaven (similar to when she has had catnip), i'm not sure if this was to do with the goosedown?

Anyhow when I was able to rescue it back I tested it out (indoors only for the moment) and was quite surprised at how warm it felt when fully zipped up. Also it did seem to puff up a bit after it had been out of the compression bag for a bit. Lastly I was able to get it back into the compression bag with very little fuss and it compressed very small with little effort.
