cheap Adzes on fleabay

Hi Guys,
does anyone have any experience using or owning one of the cheaper (around £25) eastern european adzes that are being sold on flabby at the moment.
i'd like to get an Adze to have a go at bowl carving but can't really justify the expense of one of the well known brands.

I have one. It does the job. The handle is rough and ready but it's OK

I bought this, and am very happy with it. I think it is a roofers adze as it has a hammer face and a nail puller. Can't fault it. Oh, I did shorten the handle by 4", but that was to suit me.

handles are never a problem as i can always rehandle. as long as the steel can hold a reasonable edge.

You may want to research the side the bevel is on.

Wood carver's adzes usually have the bevel on the inside, the handle face, of the adze.
Such as Stubai and Kestrel (both elbow and D adze.)
