Otzi the man found in a glacier is dated to 5,300 years ago and he carried with him the charred felt from fomes fomentarius, presumably to act as char to light fires. Does that count as charcloth?
Do you make char-tinder from fungi and other sustances, in exactly the same way as char cloth? As in, in a tin on a fire? Is this the widely accepted method for "charring" ?
If anyone wants to elaborate then that would be very helpful?
