Nice man cave! Did you cover the tin/air holes with a damp cloth?

No just let it cool down by its self, would it make a difference with the damp cloth? And yes the tin works great thanks.

Just made some myself, out of an old camouflaged T-shirt. I made it in an old air gun pellet tin. I thought it had finished after about fifteen minutes, so I took it off. Still wasn't done, so I stuck it back on the fire for another thirty minutes. Mind you it was packed solid. Tried it in my fire piston and it lit on the third time. So not a bad result. I used to make my charcloth in a piece of copper pipe, which was flattened down at one end. I used to get quick and very good results from that.
