Cawl type spoon in birch.

Well I stumbled across a post about cawl spoons and though 'They look great'.

So, with a fresh bit green birch I set about it. Not quite happy with the shape and a bit thinning to do when it dries.

Such a change carving green wood instead of seasoned!!!

I like that! I've finally got some sycamore big enough for a ladle to go with the ones I've done so far, then it will be. Wall rack

I love the shape!
No quite the traditional circular bowl we use down here but it has a certain "something"

I like the shape of the bowl and the little point as it joins the handle. I'm not sure if it is just perspective but it looks very small in your hand? how big is it?

Thanks guys. I looked at pics and some had a straight front as well as the traditional round ones. I'll try again and see what I get.

A certain 'something' is always better than 'rustic' Appreciated.

I don't have the smallest of hands! I think it would do for eating chunky cawl though.

Haven't had quirky yet but lots of rustic. Maybe a regional translation...
