live bait always works for me. probably the best IMO

my bait of choice is from tesco/morrisons/fishmonger and usually free of charge......Half a salmon head, split lengthwise with a cleaver, mounted on a double treble setup, freelined......... killer!

I use lures all the time. Usually a soft bait with a single hook and a paddle type tail.
