I've been thinking about overtrousers too,
can't decide whether to take apart some trousers I like and use that as a pattern, or go for simpler "Stud on chaps" as my smock is quite long.

Impressive, an idea then, to make a ventile jacket, since I am mourning my mother chucking out my old Survival Aids double ventile jacket.

Surprising also, sewing machines are cheap to buy from second hand outlets.My pal even swapped a bottle of whiskey, (he being a non drinker but had the stuff for currency), for one of those heavy duty Singer machines used for sewing upholstery, leather and stuff, it is a monster and comes in two parts.

But as to the jacket shown here, it gives hope to those of us that mourn and those of us that want, make thy own.

But, is bushcraft, really self reliance in all things.

Hi, A pic of how i done the seems on the jacket. All i done was left one side of the seem longer , than turn it over the other , tuck in the rough edge and stitched in place.
