I have had this knackered Barbour jacket for years. It had plenty of holes and tears and wasn’t exactly in its first or even second flush of youth.

Inspired by the Longshoreman jacket worn I converted my Beaufort into a smock. Quite easy to do and has made it a more practical “outdoors” jacket. I’ll be re waxing it this week to finish it off.

Relocated the front bellows to the rear as poachers pockets, added Para smock cuffs, removed the full zip and shortened the length at the front so I can now access a belt kit or pockets. The jacket closes using the original poppers. Repaired and patched all the existing tears and holes and added a few of my military badges. I have a large Union flag to add to the left arm too.

Far far cheaper than a used longshoreman (on eBay around £6-800), still have a the soft finish hand warmer pockets and no one has one either. Was a fun little project to do
