I recently asked for some corks for a little project I had in mind.

Just after I'd sorted out some on here from Teepee my neighbour dropped a load off to me as they'd been to a party last night, always the way with stuff like this

Anyway the majority weren't suitable for what I had planned as they were tapered but I found one that was just right so I made this

The cork holds the blade reasonably well but I decided it would be better having the leather collar just to make sure it doesn't get knocked off by mistake, plus it looks nicer than just a plain cork on the knife.

The other corks aren't big enough for my larger spoon knives but British Red is kindly sending me some unused ones so hopefully they'll be big enough

Thanks guys. I've got to admit I didn't come up with the cork idea by myself. I saw it being used on some Ray Iles spoon knives that were for sale at the Wood fair and thought that would be a neat idea coupled with the leather collar

Oh very clever indeed! :notworthy

John would be proud of that... it's pink :lmao:

Unfortunately it's not... it's the lighting that's turned it pinkish
