Today went with my brother in law to Callender and put the canoe in at the carpark there beside the River Teith, part of a recce for another trip later in the year.

Stopping for lunch...

Lunch, some arepas from corn meal...

Saw some herons, plenty of other birds and deer...

We reached Doune Castle (in the distance) carried on past it to where the Teith meets the Forth, got out at the slipway at the back of the Dobbies complex near Stirling...

We had some fun in small rapids and fast moving sections, some slogging over shallows, and one tip into the water with an unexpected shelf like slab tipping us into knee deep water. Everything was tied in and we just had a soaking, but there was intermittent sun that dried us out.
The weir above Deanston distillery was low and slow enough to let us walk the canoe down..

Nice meal afterwards at The Highland Gate pub restaurant..
