Can you dye polyester??

bit of advice please!

Is it possible to dye polyester? i picked up a cheap "windshirt" but its light cream (wont be for long!) and i wanted to turn it a more bushy colour!

My lovely wife suggests RIT dyes as they do a lot of dyes for man made fibres... But, she's not sure it will do polyester so check it out for yourself.

I saw someone n here do a smock with idye, they used idye for man made and a packet for natural fibers. It dyed the poly cotton and even dyed the plastic buttons.

I've not had any success with dyeing polyester,I dont think it's possible

As RS suggests, idye poly but if it contains natural fibres as well you would also need normal Idye.

Cheers for that!I've heard boiling does the trick im just paranoid im either going to melt the top or shrink it to mini me size!!
