Hi guys,

going up to the lakes next weekend.

I'm going up Thursday afternoon ready for an early start Friday to camp on some mountains for a couple of days.

What I after is a campsite where I can spend the Thursday night in my hammock?

I'm not necessary talking wild camping, happy to pay.

If any of you have any reccomendations let me no

Cheers
Steve

Try Castlerigg hall.

Its a 'posh' site, but the camping field has plenty of trees. I have had tarp up and also hammock, but just used it to chill out in, sleeping in tent at night.

Avoid the Camping and Caravanning Club site lakeside! They would take a dim view of anything our type of camping involves, including hammocks. The are sites down the Borrowdale valley if you are pushed which are much more relaxed.

You could try Bridge End farm near Thirlmere if it's not too far out for you there is a wooded area on the hill at the end of the campsite where you would be on your own
