Camping near Poole

I am starting a new job soon on the outskirts of Poole & am thinking of camping out for a new nights until I get paid, so I dont have to drive back to Sussex each night. Can anyone recommend a campsite or other location where I can camp out for a night or two during the week. I have a tent and tarp/hammock plus all the gear so that would not be a problem/ Some of the ones I have looked at are all closed until March, so was wondering if a local could recommend soewhere.. I have a car so dont mind driving a bit. Ideally somewhere bushcraft friendly would be good so I could have a fire, sleep in my hammock etc.. Thanks

Burnbake is excellent (out of peak season) if you don't mind being on the other side of the chain ferry...

plenty of tarp/hammock opportunities and they allow fires off the ground too

Thanks for the replies. I have looked up Burnbake but they are shut until the 8th of April. I will be there for 3 to 6 months so this may well prove usefull as the place I am working is north of poole on the dual carrigeway so not that far away from this site.

I have stayed at Burnbake very nice site. Can be crowded at times.

Thanks. I have been told yesterday that the 'immediate start' will now be happening in 3 weeks time..... Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I am looking elsewhere so may not need this campsite now but I plan to do a load down Wiltshire/Dorset way this year so it's all good information.
