Camping in the New Forest

Hello all, I am wanting to camp somewhere aways off many footpaths in the New Forest.
I want to be near a stream and I do not mind walking some miles to get to the particular spot.
I need there to be somewhere to park my car also.
Can anyone tell me a good area to start looking as I have never been in the area.

Good luck. Rich nosey people everywhere... Dog walkers, and over zealous locals.
you could probably get away with it, but your car would be under scrutiny unless you left it in a town and walked (pref at night).

I often camp in TNF some great spots, try looking up Tiptoe and the stream near there

I approve mightily of your chosen Avatar, dear Lockehart. Bloody Champion.

On the note of your trip into the New Forest. Park up in a built up area; Town or village. Walk in. Get an OS Explorer map and work out a route. Take a chance and get out there, see what you find. Actually stay at a Camp site and then walk into the Forest & Heath, spend a few days getting to know the place.
