Camping Gaz Lantern 270 Plus Thread Cartridge

Anybody know for a suitable alternative for a Camping Gaz 270 Plus Threaded cartridge that would fit quite an oldish Camping Gaz lantern that has the pull down handles on the side and and a base on it to keep in place. I cant find one anywhere. Or would it be ok just to use a normal cartridge and take off the base and restraining metal bars? Lantern is still working in perfect condition and I'd be loathed to throw it out at the mo.

The old lanterns had pierced cartridges , not compatible with threaded cartridges . If that is what you mean.
Some people have made adaptors to fill the pierced ones , leave in place and fill through the jet thread using the on/ off switch.
Pierced cartridges are available in places. Not the USA I understand.

Thank you Birchwood but this model has the enclosed case around the bottom and a base that screws back on. Definitely threaded because I disposed of the canister the other day.

In fact I think I bought it to replace an older pierced canister camping Gaz lantern. It's a BLEUET CV270 MODEL.
