anyone have any recommendations for a campknife?

I carry a Karesuando Boar for general stuff but I'm finding it a bit small for some things... I've been looking a at a tops tracker mini, but that is some serious £££, has anyone got any experience with something like the Gerber LMF?

dont get the LMF, look around the net, there is so much negativity about them. From personal experience - just, just don't.

I would recommend the gerber big rock. Great knife, and only about £30. Mine seems to be indestructable... and I am very good at breaking knives! Just had mine re-handled as I am so pleased. Just make sure that you get the one with the plain edge rather than with serrations.

is this the one that is being re-designed after problems with blade damage? Quite a few were being returned I know ... anyone know if its this one or the other model ?

I looked very closely at buying one of those but settled for this as I wanted a "big chopper" oor errr misses : http://www.heinnie.com/Knives/Ontario-Knives/Ontario-RTAK-II/p-92-178-4049/

I think the Fox Parang was designed by a member on here, Alfredo.

Yes, it's me :-) The problems (bend or breaks on blades, chopping woods) were with the Parang XL http://www.heinnie.com/Knives/Fox-Knives/Fox-Cutlery-Parang-XL/p-92-142-5658/
no problems as far as I know whit the Parang http://www.heinnie.com/product.asp?strParents=92,142&CAT_ID=142&P_ID=5659
Regards, Alfredo
