Was given one today. (not that I really `need` one but nice to have)

its not complete though. Though the legs are all there it is missing some of the poles that go at the side.

But I have plenty of tent poles...

trouble is, the poles for the bed are galvanised steel, while the tent ones are ali...will they be strong enough??

I don't know! but I doubt it. I have been looking to see if there is a copy of these camp beds using light weight materials and haven't found one so maybe there's a reason? But depends on the thickness of your poles I guess. Maybee some 11 mm DACs could do it? I personally would hate to find out the hard way!

Hi Tengu,
Can you post a pic?
I've got an entire set of spare poles for a camp bed (clumsy fellow archaeologist ploughed through it on her way to the loo and put her foot right through the fabric and ripped it apart) I always meant to make another one but I've got two others kicking around and never bothered.
If the bits fit yours, then you are welcome to them.
If I remember correctly, the bed originally came form Argos about 10 years ago, the poles are steel and they are heavy :(

Cheers,
Toddy

I also have one 'goin' spare so's t' speak......tis blue canvas wi cut outs....galve poles wi' inset reinfroced holes fer the legs.....sits about 8" of the floor and the canvas is real tight when built........saved it from a burning caravan years ago....never bin used.

Camp beds are made with aluminum frames in several different styles.. Search Google: "cot" or "cots" + "aluminum." Perhaps you are looking for something else entirely.
