I was lucky enough to watch a very dramtic wing touching display on Sunday. I managed to photgraph it from a distance on a long lens. They aren't the best photographs in the world, given the poor light, panning and fast firing on a hand held 40mm lens - but I hope the display makes up for it!

At least one authoratative sounding source claims that although they tumble, swoop and dive - they never touch in the air....uhuh?

As an entry into a photography competition they wouldn't make it into the top three; as a record of a fascinating natural event, first prize.:)

Very nicely done BR.

I had a Marsh Harrier and two young circling and calling above me a couple of weeks ago but my little camera wasn't up to the job.

This spring I saw two buzzards in territorial competition, actually locking talons together, spinning earthwards, crashing through the forest canopy and only releasing when they landed on the forest floor, only 10 to 15 metres away from me. Talk about jaw dropping. Of course camera wasn't with me, but I don't think I'd have been quick enough even if I'd had it. You were lucky, or maybe level-headed enough, to get your pics.
