Bushcraft under 100

Anyone here who's read my normal insane meanderings knows I love a challenge. But this is a tough one. Once again, the pub and the fine people at titanic brewery are partly to blame. After I proved last time that I can go out with nothing and come home content and bloated, the subject of people new and interested in the hobby came up.
Obviously someone with no experience would have great difficulty with minimal or in fact zero kit, and would certainly not enjoy the experience.
It's been pointed out that bushcraft can be an expansive hobby, so a friend who wants to get into it has set me a challenge of a full comprehensive setup, for under £100.
I know I'm not in the minority here, but some of my gear cost more than that individually!
There is a caveat too, his first upcoming weekender, I have to use his sub 100 gear, and only his sub 100 gear while he gets to use my equipment to prove I'm not just fobbing him off with crap I wouldn't use!
Any suggestions? I'm a tree dweller normally but do I sacrifice the hammock tarp and cordage for a 1 man tent? Do I make a free hobo stove or buy a cheapie for ease? Anything welcome guys and girls!

Does that include clothing, or just rucksack and the stuff carried in it? Sounds interesting.
Ideally all in including waterproofs but normal clothing underneath. It's also got to be things publicly available. So I can't just forge him an axe and knife and call that free!

Well I'm with you my kit is expensive too. This is a quick look I did whilst work's network is down and it'll roll in at £131 but it was just a quick look;

Waterproofs; Army Goretex, loads of cheap options on eBay. I think the old style desert ones may be cheapest.

Tarp; Army tarp, desert ones again are probably the best option on price.

Knife; Mora or Hultafors robust

Axe; I'd go garden centre and you should be able to pick up a sharpening stone there too.

Stove; I'd go for a hobo stove or a home made wood gas stove

Water; Millbank bags are available for under a tenner at Anchor supplies

Bed roll

Ah see I've been told 2nd hand and surplus is not allowed. Although it's something I use regularly

Well then head to go outdoors and pick up a one man tent along with the rest of what you need. You might roll in for under £100 with waterproofs, tent, mat, sleeping bag and rucksack.

what is this glamcraft?

There will be a major dip in quality if you try sans surplus

No surplus or second hand should still be doable, nice challenge though.

It's looking like it should come in under 100 so far. Machete, tent, sleeping bag, roll mat, stove, cooking and eating stuff, waterproofs and bottle for £79

I know that's been a bit of an issue. The idea is brand new price, and obviously a Czech surplus sleep system for example is far cheaper than a brand new bivy.

wouldn't bother with a machete and the rest of that stuff is camping gear not bushcraft gear ;)

Ah but he's going to need it if he's going to stay out and play. The knife and axe I listed were a pretty good buy I thought although I just realised I didn't look at a saw.
