Thought I'd share some pics of my first bushcraft folder, can't say its all my work as its made with the liners and metalwork from a cheap folder, but the blade is my work as is the woodwork,iv'e got the bug now and have ordered the bits to make some, all myself.
3mm 75mm blade,and some fiddleback maple scales.

love the overall design, but just have a few questions

1: why the extra n"choil" at the expense of cutting edge when the handle itself already has so many grooves to stop the hand slipping?

2. Does the tip of the blade stick out of the edge of the handle a bit? i assume that this is just from the angle of the picture, or maybe because of constraints in the handle shape in the first place?

3. Why a scandi grind? I always use my folder for food or smaller tasks for which i like a flat ground or hollow blade.

again, i really like the knife overall, just a few things i'd be really interested to know your thoughts on :)

Very nice looking knife there Bernie. I like the shape of the knife, did you base the design on your 'little whittler' knife? Also, what's the wood you used in ther handle?

I love the idea of a scandy folder. Can I colour myself interested in a 3" slip joint with thumb stud please Bernie? Thats truly a lovely idea!

If its as good as your fixed blades......

Many thanks all for your comments,I've been toying with the idea for a bit, this one was a bit of a play to find out the way they worked and is a one off, haven't seen a bushcraft scandi ground folder so thought i see if i could make one, that's why the blades shaped like it is,so when open it looks like a bushcraft knife,as i said earlier have ordered more folder making gear from the States, the next one will be with a more bushy style handle.thanks again.
