I've no idea whether it's expensive or not. Wouldn't the ebay price include the original import duty and p&p (the seller's including the cost of sending in the price). As far back as I can remember the cost of most items from America just seemed to have their $ replaced with our £.

Import duty is generally 8% - 12% then add VAT at 17.5%.

Therefore:

$100 (International purchase and postage) + Import duty(@12%) = $112

Then:

$112 + VAT (@17.5%) = $131.60

Convert to £ sterling:

That is +/- £67.00

Added to which the magnificent value for money Post Office handling charge of a tenner:

Total approximately = £77.00

I have a mate who works for the Cuzzers in the ID, he tells me that they hit about 25% of incoming packages with a charge.............they have not got the man [or woman] power to deal with every item that comes in.

This is expensive! Even with "free" p&p.

I got one about three weeks ago for £51ish inc p&p. No duty (lucky me) but even if I had paid it, it's cheaper than £99.99.

Also, by buying direct you get to deal with the guy who actually makes the stoves.

This hard to part with stove is here now - only one available

:Wow: Brand spanking new- on ebay item number 260249978072
No connection with seller - :joke: ahem...cough cough, well...maybe :D

A tad expensive dont you think from what I have seen since being on this site people are very aware off what they want and research before they buy you wont do your cred any good by offering goods at over inflated prices thats the goverments job

Tourist (Alex) is right-
The wee surplus is supply and demand forces - there aren't many around.
Price and 'expensive' are all personal perception- I paid for knives and loads of other kit, many that were 'a tad expensive' but it was my choice as in lack of availability, time to get one, etc.

this 'bushbuddy' is here in the UK now and ready to rock! well burn!
£10 off if sold to a member of this parish!

Woodstock- I hardly think that asking an extra tenner or so is ' over inflated prices'- do you?

Note:
to demonstrate goodwill, I have added a 'open to sensible offers'- on fleabay- but that doesn't mean that I will take a loss on it what with taxes etc.

How quickly we forget the rules

Added guidelines after some discussion on the forum about commenting on prices.

1. Seller posts up the price they want for an item.
2. Seller posts up that it includes fees and postage or not.
3. Buyers accept the price or not.
4. If the buyers think the prices are a bit high they can comment politely in the thread or via PM to the seller.
5. Do not all jump into the thread and say the prices are high, or you can get it here or there cheaper. Leave it alone if someone has already politely pointed it out.
