Just seeing if there is any interest in a meet up for a Burns Night on the weekend of the 23rd,24th Jan. As the New Year meet didn't realy happen for folks due to the weather maybe we could hold it at the same place...Wiston Lodge.

Mary...if you're reading this maybe you could find out if it's available or tell me who to contact there to find out? I'll check with you soon.

Vince

Good idea :D

Contact is straight to the on site office, phone numbers on the website.

The lady who deals with bookings is called Pam.

It's a lovely place and the staff couldn't be more helpful Vince.

I'm quite happy if you're up for organising this one
Mind we have a couple of parachutes among us to choose from, I've still got (and if needed can probably get more) venison, and they do have a games hall that could be hired if we want to do more with the weekend too.

Do you want to start an interested bodies list ?

atb,
M

An intrested bodies list would be a good way forward. So will anyone interested please add their name to the list...So far there's...

WEE, sleekit, cow'rin', tim'rous beastie,
O what a panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
Wi' bickerin' brattle!
I wad be laith to rin an' chase thee
Wi' murd'rin' pattle!

I'm truly sorry man's dominion
Has broken Nature's social union,
An' justifies that ill opinion
Which makes thee startle
At me, thy poor earth-born companion,
An' fellow-mortal!

I doubt na, whiles, but thou may thieve:
What then? poor beastie, thou maun live!
A daimen-icker in a thrave
'S a sma' request:
I'll get a blessin' wi' the lave,
An' never miss't!

Thy wee bit housie, too, in ruin!
Its silly wa's the win's are strewin';
An' naething, now, to big a new ane,
O' foggage green!
An' bleak December's winds ensuin',
Baith snell an' keen!

Thou saw the fields laid bare an' waste,
An' weary winter comin' fast,
An' cozie here, beneath the blast,
Thou thought to dwell—
Till, crash! the cruel coulter past
Out thro' thy cell.

That wee bit heap o' leaves an' stibble
Has cost thee mony a weary nibble!
Now thou's turn'd out, for a' thy trouble,
But house or hald,
To thole the winter's sleety dribble
An' cranreuch cauld!

But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane
In proving foresight may be vain:
The best-laid schemes o' mice an' men
Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promised joy.

Still thou art blest, compar'd wi' me!
The present only toucheth thee:
But, och! I backward cast my e'e
On prospects drear!
An' forward, tho' I canna see
I guess an' fear!............

............I'll get me coat :D

Sorry everyone but I'm now going to be down in Telford at a conference that weekend so need to pull out of this. If the weekend doesn't go ahead then maybe I could organise another one soon.
