As promised, a trip report. Pic heavy, because there was loads to see.
The weather was glorious, the prices had gone up (£13 per adult to get in, and £8 for two pork rolls with apple sauce, plus £5 wheelchair hire after the wife's foot started playing up 5 minutes in), and the crowds were maybe a little down on last year.
I had serious tent envy on the way in
This guy takes the prize though
And this was his set-up outside the trailer
First stop was the goats, Tracy's favourites, although one was perhaps a little over-familiar...
Gandalf the black and white
Next door were the pigs, which are my faves, especially the Tamworths.
There was a feeding frenzy at one point.
Pigs are relaxed animals. Nothing looks quite so comfortable when asleep as a pig. Well, maybe bears, there weren't any of those as they are not generally popular with smallholders. Kudos if you can name the breeds.
No you can't have it. We can't afford it, and there is nowhere to put it at home.
It is lovely though.
For next year I need to win the lottery beforehand so I can by the loom, spinning wheel, wool, old tools, wooden bowls, outdoor clothes, goats, pigs, donkeys, interesting alcohol and wonderful food that was all on display. I could have spent hours longer there, and as usual I recommend your local version of this event to anyone who might be wondering if it is for them.
My wife with some strange bloke or other. Where she finds these strays I don't know...
We had a wonderful day, as usual. Thanks for looking.
