Thought I'd make this for my Brother-in-Law as a thank you for a joint of venison and the antlers from the deer he culled (He's a game keeper in his spare time - also goes culling to South Africa, which is why it's so long)
As usual, started as an old file (love Wombling) that stopped working. Re-sized and ground, with a hidden 3/4 tang.
17cm blade and a 13cm handle (his hands are even bigger than mine)
2 brass pins and a brass Lanyard tube made from a piece of petrol pipe
The sheath was hand made and stitched from an old 1 1/2" belt off-cut I have had for the last 15 odd years. It has a couple of 2 1/2" slits cut in the top to thread the belt through (stoppered with circular drilled holes)
Hope you like it. He does - especially after he put it on his steel and stone and made it literally shave sharp (bald spot on the arm)
