There's a short article with great pics on the BBC at the moment.
Every year the locals rebuild the grass bridge over the Apurimac river in Peru. Impressive stuff...

Its all very clever but I require something I cant look through the floor with.

All these fancy modern architects with their open stair plans really get me.

And you can forget spiral staircases...unless they are fully enclosed.

Thanks Tony.
No, it does not need to be steel with 12 civil engineers to approve it.
Hemp and manila rope is not so very much different.

You'd not want to go to St Eusebius' Church, Arnhem or the Alpspix, near Garmisch. Both would make you go weak at the knees - the latter certainly made me feel have Elvis legs.

I watched a documentary on this a few years ago, fascinating stuff.

Yes, I remember seeing this years ago too. I found it mesmerising as a boy, I never realised you could do this with grass. I think it kicked off my liking for engineering and bush crafting. I've always found it fascinating how ancient civilisations could build things with such primitive tools.
