Bramble cordage for skepmaking

Took me exactly 6 hours without a break to gather and process 160ft of this stuff, quicker than making twined cordage but still brutally time consuming.

Good for you

That's the bit that most folks forget; it all takes time. It takes persistance, it takes patience, and eventually that all builds up the muscle and brain/hand/eye coordination that really leads to skill.
No way to cheat on it, and no amount of reading about it and expurting, gives that.

I have not made anything with processed brambles ... but my bramble baskets last year on year (even if they look rough!) - bramble is tough stuff!

John did you scrape those brambles? It looks the colour of buff willow, my bramble baskets are green and purple.

Only rubbed to remove the thorns - then aged!

Have experimented with stitching planks for a sewn plank boat with brambles. Very tough and long-lasting.

I use bramble fibres to make cordage, very, very strong stuff
