Bow Staves

did a bowyer course with woodsmoke last june
really enjoyed it but would like to have another go without the short time scale/rush/ torrential rain
Can anyone point me in the direction of a reasonably priced seller of staves as i cant find any near me(i have wandered around local woods looking)

I've got some seasoned ash logs about 8' long 8" diameter, straight grained, knot free. I can split (i hope) some staves out of it if you want?

What kind of bow were you thinking of making?

i was shown how to make a holmegaard style bow-danish stone age self bow so for the minute i shall stick with that style until i get a bit more confident

So What dimensions would you want a stave to be?

You want the whole log?( Its half a log should i say, i used the other half for bowstaves myself, or just some staves?

I did the Bhutanese bow making course at the moot. Bamboo is a good stave material, if you need an alternative.
