Bow-drill tutorial at local scouts

I've had an invitation by a friend who is staff member of a scouting group in the local area to give a bow-drill tutorial.

Did some demo's with bow-drill, fire steel, charcloth (thanks Rich59, the charcloth match-idea works great with birch bark as well!!) and made a team-efford succes creating two embers with a three-person bow-drill set (one pressing on the bearing block on a 3' long drill and two doing the sawing of the bow).

Had a wonderfull afternoon.

Well done. It certainly honed my own skills with the bow drill when I did the same with my scouts. You can learn more by teaching than by just doing it for yourself.
