Build a Bronze Age Logboat at Loch Tay: 11th-29th August
The logboat project is being run jointly between the Scottish Crannog Centre near Kenmore and the Perth and Kinross Heritage Trust who have commissioned prehistoric woodworking specialist Damian Goodburn. He will lead the work to recreate as closely as possible the Bronze Age 'Carpow' logboat which was raised from the River Tay last year and is undergoing conservation at the National Museums of Scotland. Participants will use a range of hand tools including replica Bronze Age axes, adzes and chisels.
There are still a few places left for volunteers, who must commit at least 5 consecutive days during the following periods: 11-15th August; 18-22nd (sorry, already FULL); and 24th-29th August. For each session participants should arrive the night before (if not within easy travelling distance) and on-site camping is available.
