Agreed! My sympathy with most of God's creatures does not extend to clegs - exterminate! And if they're still hanging around mid Scotland in November, I could put you in touch with a manufacturer of flame throwers!

Great offer from jojo (I can personally attest to the quality of his craftsmanship, my general purpose knife is one of his Nessmuks) - this could be a great online project- I don't think I've ever seen a hand sickle used or discussed, but as a gathering tool it certainly makes sense. Look forward to it (maybe).

It would be useful for gathering thatching material if making a small fixed camp too. I'd like to see what is made, a good robust tool would be very handy indeed.
