I had some offcuts of leather and some bits of oak kicking about and decided to find a use for them.
First up was a couple of strops for my carving knives, one for my Mora spoon knife which meant a first go at saddle stitching (boy is that hard on the fingers!) and a flat one for the straight blades. I Also made a case for the flat one so it can go in my pack without smearing compound everywhere.

I also came up with a way to carry my tarp poles.

My hole punch was a tad undersized for the pole spikes so I made four small slits in them to ease them in but they still grip quite nicely.
( a bit like those rubber tea towel holders)
I used some leftover press studs and a couple of rivets from when I made my hatchet mask.

Ta for looking in, Rob.

Cheers. Google is doing away with Picassa and moved all my pic's to their Photo site, it has beggar all info on how to make them viewable to those with the link as Picassa had...way to go google numpties :censored: It really looks like a dumbed down version of Picassa and much less user friendly and will probably void every photo I have ever posted to any site.
Hope to sort it out soon

Rob.

Nice work, especially the case for the strop. I do love an over engineered solution (and I don't mean this to sound disparaging in any way) but I keep my strop in a plastic bag to keep the compound from smearing over other kit. Still, I expect your case will outlast hundreds of my plastic bags!
