Mantilly Orne
Hi and good evening.
I wonder if anyone can help me to identify two birds. I live in France - Lower Normandy. Two birds that I constantly hear but cannot recognise make the following sounds. One sounds like 'mwaap' 'mwaap' 'mwaap' with about a second or so between sounds, quite loud. The next bird makes what I can only describe as the sound of an electrical discharge, a crackling sound like when neg and pos are touched together. Sorry ir's a bit vague.
Thanks you for your time.

In what kind of terrain did you hear these birds?

The second bird might be this one:

They can make a weird noise that sounds like rubbing two little stones together. They prefer stony ground which here in Holland means industrial terrain

Cheers,

Tom
