I have just been down to Wickes DIY Store to buy some paint and came across this:

So I bought one, it cost me £4.99.
It's a 2lt paint kettle made of pretty decent aluminium (looks & feels stronger than my normal ally billycan) unfortunately they only sold one size.

I hope this is useful.

Looks identical to one I got in Homebase about a year ago, right down to the return edge on the rim. Sadly not ally, but steel and rusted very quickly in a damp shed! Looking at the colour of the spot welds in the picture, I reckon it's the steel version like the one I got.

Ah, it seems Yeoman got there first. I was going to ask if it was actually galvanised steel. Not galvanised as it turns out.

Cheers,
Steve

I've looked at these a few times but as they are not sold for cooking I was always a little wary. I favour stainless steel or cast iron for cooking over a fire.
