best knot to secure to a tent peg - constrictor knot

I need a knot that will grip the top of a tent peg with a wasp waist. The knot is to secure cordage to an alloy tent peg that will have a loop tp attach shock cord to.

If I get what you are asking (possibly).
A fixed loop larks foot style around the wasp waist (never heard of such before) will both give you a secure 'knot' and an incorporated eye.

round turn and 2 half hitches with a alpine butterfly for the cordage?

What sort of pegs are they, a drilled hole and a stopper knot might be more secure

Clove hitch, followed by a bowline for the loop?

If the narrow part is big enough you could treat it like a spade end hook. Something like a domhoff knot with a fig eight loop at the other end should be rock solid. Possibly overkill though

Thank you for your ideas, thought of the clove hitch already and looking forward to testing them out. The tent peg is the Y type that has a narrow section before it widens out again, hence the wasp waist.
